Dear Mite & Mini-mite Hockey Families,
Please take the time to watch this Hockey Parent Video. It might seem to go a little slow at times, but the message is right on target and drives it home a lot better than written materials. Besides, if you watch it from the comfort of home, we won’t make you sit through it at our team parent meeting!
Cheering on the kids from the stands makes games a lot more exciting to watch. We just need to do our best to keep our communication encouraging. Regardless of who makes a good play – your child, a teammate, or even the opposing team – your cheers will go a long way toward making friends in the stands.
And let’s be sure to give the refs a break. With the puck moving so fast, so many players on the ice, and no instant replay, we can’t expect them to be perfect. Besides, a “bad” call is rarely the cause of the difference between winning and losing a game.
Thanks to everyone helping out with getting the cross-ice dividers on and off the ice. It sure makes the coaches jobs easier, and cross-ice is a way better way for the little kids to learn hockey!
See you at the rink!
Peter Erickson
